Ep.2/ Why meditation?
Meditation can assist you in releasing stored tension and letting go of thoughts, feelings, and stories that no longer serve your well-being.
Most of us discover or try meditation when seeking healing or relief from stress, anxiety, depression, and the myriad of human experiences and emotions. Life can be tough, and we turn to practices like meditation and yoga to navigate our thoughts and emotions within our unique circumstances. Sometimes, the relaxation techniques we used to rely on no longer work, or we find ourselves engaging in habits that are physically or emotionally destructive, seeking a sense of mental space.
Meditation can assist you in releasing stored tension and letting go of thoughts, feelings, and stories that no longer serve your well-being. With consistent practice, meditation can bring the gifts of courage, resilience, and peace. Creating a daily space for meditation can be the greatest gift you give yourself. Myths of meditation
• You need to stop your thoughts to meditate! In reality, we learn to observe our thoughts without attaching to them or believing everything we think.
• You need to sit cross-legged on the floor to meditate. Meditation can be practiced while sitting on a chair, laying down, standing, or even while enjoying a cup of tea. It can be an informal mindfulness practice.
• You need to chant, pray, or believe in religion to meditate. The practice of meditation does not rely on dogma, religion, or specific beliefs.
• Meditation is a cure-all for life's challenges. While meditation can help settle the mind and nervous system, it's important to acknowledge that it doesn't magically solve all of life's difficulties.
